Tips for Choosing the Perfect Location

Accessibility for families, which location is best for younger children and older children? As a Professional Oxford Photographer I can help you plan the session to make it super fun and relaxed for everyone! Let me know if you are bringing your four-legged bestie! Young children, older children, grandparents, and I can help you plan the best Oxford photoshoot. I will also help you to chose outfits for different backdrops and send you some tips on what to wear!

Young Children

When photographing young children, it is imperative that we keep them safe and parents relaxed! So my favourite place for families with young children is the magical meadows and whimsical woods, fairyland Forests!

  • Parking I love to chose somewhere that is easy walking distance and somewhere you can park. Children can get tired quickly, so I like to keep our car parking spot close to our photoshoot location!

  • Safety: I like the location to be safe for children to run around away from roads

  • Terrain: If bringing a pram  we can chose a location together that is suitable and has a path! Plus if some gorgeous grandparents are coming we will make sure the path is suitable for them too!

  • Space: I like there to be enough room for kids to play and without too many people around so you can all feel comfortable to be yourselves and relax.

Older Children

Oxford City is perfect for older children and adults and a perfect location for a  family graduation photoshoot! Or if you are here visiting from around the world! For families with young children avoid busy city centre spots choose spacious parks or meadows for a stress-free experience.

  • Parking and Transport: Is there nearby parking and good public buses in Oxford. The Westgate carpark is large and has plenty of parking but it is a good 20 minute walk to some of the historic buildings. Bus stops are a little closer.

  • Safety: The city centre is better for older children  and adults as it can get rather crowed with locals and tourists.

  • Facilities: There are toilets nearby in the local museums and near the Covered Market and local bars and cafes. I always recommend a n ice treat after a fun filled photoshoot. A rest to think about all the amazing photos you will get from your Oxford Family photoshoot
